Being Your Authentic Self
When people find themselves advocating themselves as a specific identity, the perception of others would often generate stigmas or traits that associate to that identity. This often generates expectations and misconceptions about your own truth and identity. One example is being a strong black woman and what other people are expecting you to be like. What others need to know is that God did not create everyone to compete or be compared with others. Being your authentic self comes from upbringings or traumas and just because you are strong, does not mean you are healed.
Prioritize Yourself First
Women need to understand that the ultimate goal is not marriage, it is God and what He’s made you to become. It’s a blessing to find someone who will love you for your flaws and insecurities, but they too have to love themselves before they can advance to the higher levels of love. One important aspect to love is that God has someone for you and you will find them when you are ready. The important part is being open, unashamed, and vulnerable to God to make you realize how much you should truly love yourself before you put that much love in others. You have to always find your identity first.
